   To expand a bit on Abel’s excellent answer about the size of an A330 tire:
   
   • 1400 is the diameter (in milimeters).
   • 
   • 530 is the nominal section width (in milimeters). The nominal section width is the widest point from both outer edges (side wall to side wall).
   • 
   • R means it is a radial tire
   • 23 is the size of the rim (in inches)
